Brainwave - Ride for Kids

Pedla is teaming up with Brainwave to help support Ride for the Kids, a national virtual cycling challenge taking place throughout October. Brainwave is the only charity in Australia dedicated to supporting children with brain injuries and illnesses, and their families.

Led by campaign ambassadors Gracie Elvin (dual Olympian and cycling commentator) and Matt Keenan (‘The Voice of Cycling’ - one of Australia’s most recognisable voices and commentator for Tour de France, La Vuelta and Giro d-italia), participants register and ride any distance, anywhere, to raise funds and awareness for families riding the waves of childhood brain disorders.

Whether it’s 10 km around the block or you challenge yourself to ride one of our noteworthy distances: 298km for Paris-Roubaix or 1,200 km across the Nullabor, every kilometre and every dollar raised helps Brainwave Australia provide life-saving equipment, critical therapy and moments of joy to over 1,600 families across Australia caring for a child with a brain disorder.

Every day, 10 children in Australia are diagnosed with a brain illness or injury. That’s over 3,000 families a year whose lives change in an instant. Ride for the Kids raises critical funds to support these children and their families through Brainwave Australia.

Started 30 years ago, Brainwave Australia is the only national charity supporting families of children with brain injuries and illnesses and our registrations have doubled over the last three years. We need your help.

Funds raised in Ride for the Kids go directly to Brainwave Australia and fund: equipment grants, family camps, hospital assistance, critical therapy, Mums & Dad’s groups and family connection events.
