Two Birders, Two Bikes, One School
Meet Cezary and Leo, two mates who are currently on an adventure of a lifetime. Setting off from Melbourne on New year’s Day 2024, these two birders are riding around Australia to raise money to rebuild a school outside of Balibo in Timor Leste–while also attempting to document all 700+ native birds around Australia.
Builecon School is outside Balibo, a three hour drive from the capital Dili in Timor-Leste. With concerns the current building may collapse, the funds raised will help build four new classrooms and refurbish the unusable existing toilet.
After over 300 days on the road, Cezary and Leo are set to arrive back into their hometown of Melbourne this Friday, 1st November.
Riding up from Sorrento on Friday morning, they will arrive at Condell Reserve in Fitzroy (Cnr Condell Street & Napier Street, opposite Fitzroy Town Hall) around 4:00-4:30PM, before heading to the nearby Rainbow Hotel for a much needed parma!
