adl 2026 ride waiver
The Pedla x Trek communities are inclusive, encouraging and uplifting. We foster and facilitate a love of riding so everyone can reap the benefits. Organizing bike rides and events for our cycling community is what we love doing. All rides are free to attend unless otherwise specified. Participation requires agreement to this waiver, which affirms that you are fit and prepared for the ride, understand road rules, and will act responsibly. Your registration and waiver agreement will be valid from 16th to the 25th of January 2026 for specified Pedla x Trek led rides hosted in Adelaide and surrounding areas during the Santos Tour Down Under event.
RELEASED PARTIES
- The Pedla Pty Ltd (ACN 679 597 445) as nominee for the partnership, Open Road
Enterprises Pty Ltd (ACN 158 622 596) as trustee for the Open Road Trust and That
Rolls Pty Ltd (ACN 158 640 138) as trustee for That Rolls Trust , Trading as The Pedla
(ABN 72 541 814 435). Referred to throughout this document as “Pedla” with registered
office at 44 Sackville Street, Collingwood, Victoria 3066 and,
- Trek Bicycle Corporation (Australia) Pty Ltd. ABN 56 143 457 998. Referred to throughout this document as “Trek”, with registered office at Baker McKenzie, 'Tower One - International
Towers, Sydney' Level 46 , 100 Barangaroo Avenue, Barangaroo NSW 2000
1. PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
1.1 Compliance with Terms
By registering for or attending this ride, you agree to comply with these terms at all times. If you do not agree, you must not participate.
1.2 Skill and Experience
You affirm that:

You are at least 18 years old.

You have the skills, health, fitness, and experience necessary for the ride.

You will use a road-legal, well-maintained bicycle with working brakes and suitable tires.

You can complete basic repairs to your bike unassisted.

You will be self-sufficient with water, food, front and rear lights, and a repair/tool kit.
Pedla x Trek do not provide on-road support, mechanical repairs or medical assistance.
2. ASSUMPTION OF RISK
Cycling can be a hazardous activity. You acknowledge that participation carries risks of injury, death or property damage. You assume full responsibility for all risks, whether known or unknown, and accept all associated costs and damages. You confirm that you have read and understand the risks associated with participation.
3. RELEASE OF LIABILITY
By registering for and/or attending this ride/s, to the extent permitted by law, including under section 139A of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), you release and waive any claims against Pedla and/or Trek, its employees, ride leaders, sponsors, volunteers, and any affiliated entities (collectively, the "Released Parties") for injuries, damages, or losses arising from participation. This release applies whether or not the injury is caused by the negligence of the Released Parties. This release does not apply to liability arising from the reckless conduct of any Released Party.
4. INDEMNIFICATION
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, damages, costs, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your participation in the event.
5. SAFETY & RESPONSIBILITIES
You agree to:

Obey all road rules and traffic laws.

Wear a bicycle helmet that meets current safety standards.

Not wear headphones or earbuds while riding.

Carry a working mobile phone and appropriate identification.
-
Follow the directions of event organizers or ride leaders regarding speed, route changes or safety measures.
If you are involved in an accident and cannot call emergency services, you authorize another participant or a member of the public to do so on your behalf and accept any costs incurred.
6. INSURANCE & LIABILITY

You are responsible for your own insurance coverage.

Pedla and Trek does not provide accident, injury, or liability insurance.

You acknowledge that other participants may or may not have individual insurance.

If you do not hold suitable insurance, you may be personally liable for any losses.
7. PHOTO & MEDIA RELEASE
By participating, you grant permission for Pedla and Trek to use your name, image and likeness in promotional materials, social media and other publications without compensation.
8. RIDE GUIDELINES
This is a social ride, not a race. Participants are expected to:

Call out hazards and ensure the safety of fellow riders.

Regroup at key points and provide assistance if needed.

Respect all riders, regardless of experience or bike type.

Adhere to venue etiquette, properly storing bikes at cafes or other stops.
Aggressive or inappropriate behavior, including violence, verbal abuse, or littering, may result in exclusion from the event and future rides.
9. LEGAL AGE & PARENTAL CONSENT
You affirm that you are at least 18 years old. If under 18, a parent or legal guardian must sign this waiver on your behalf. The parent/guardian agrees to the terms of this waiver on behalf of the minor and accepts responsibility for the minor’s participation.
