As we connect with Pedla riders around the world, we watch the seasons change. As some feel the first cool autumn mornings and start adding warmer layers, others feel the warmth of spring and finish a ride with just a jersey and the sun. Our new Bold Collection provides optimal layering across the seasons and through the transient conditions we know all too well - the sudden downpour, the morning that never warms up, the day that is hotter than expected.

In search of sunsets and hot chips.

Aldinga Beach, South Australia

The first weeks of spring can feel like the seasons change daily. From what feels like mid January heat to the depths of a winter in July. The one constant is the slow and steady lengthening of the days, that shift as you notice you’re no longer commuting in the dark and sunset rides no longer feel like they’re happening just after lunch. 

With these longer days in mind we headed down to Aldinga Beach in search of sunsets and hot chips, starting from the esplanade we tracked inland towards the Mclaren Vale wine region. Home to narrow roads lined by endless rows of vineyards and olive groves. These quiet roads can go on forever, only interrupted by the occasional calling of potholes. 

We had to get back to the beach, fast.

After climbing steadily towards the ranges we looked over our shoulders, only to realise that we’d fallen into the trap these longer days can catch you in, we had been so caught up in the sun and warmth that the daylight had started to slip away. We had to get back to the beach, fast. We turned downhill and ripped along the gentle descent towards the coast. Stopping only to navigate some gates in the way of a short cut. 

Before we knew it we were cruising along the esplanade on the way towards hot chips and pizza. While the temperature dropped with the sun, it couldn’t dull our enthusiasm for the summer ahead.
