The seasonal shift is here and with it our riding changes. For some the days are getting longer, the brighter dusks make you think of long days on the bike in summer. In the Northern Hemisphere the days feel shorter, you start to layer up for riding as the colder mornings hint of winter.
Our new BOLD Collection is built for optimal layering across the seasons, whether that’s preparing for spring rain showers or cold autumn mornings. Be ready for the changing conditions wherever you are in the world.
Each ride, we adjust to the transitions: layer up, take a layer off, add a layer, repeat. Now in new seasonal colours, each of our staples is crafted in the latest technical fabrics to work seamlessly together. It’s the ultimate collection to cover all bases.
The first weeks of spring can feel like the seasons change daily. From what feels like mid January heat to the depths of a winter in July. The one constant is the slow and steady lengthening of the days, that shift as you notice you’re no longer commuting in the dark and sunset rides no longer feel like they’re happening just after lunch.
With these longer days in mind we headed down to Aldinga Beach in search of sunsets and hot chips, starting from the esplanade we tracked inland towards the McLaren Vale wine region. Home to narrow roads lined by endless rows of vineyards and olive groves. These quiet roads can go on forever, only interrupted by the occasional calling of potholes.
After climbing steadily towards the ranges we looked over our shoulders, only to realise that we’d fallen into the trap in which these longer days can catch you, we had been so caught up in the sun and warmth that the daylight had started to slip away. We had to get back to the beach, fast. We turned downhill and ripped along the gentle descent towards the coast. Stopping only to navigate some gates in the way of a short cut.
Before we knew it we were cruising along the esplanade on the way towards hot chips and pizza. While the temperature dropped with the sun, it couldn’t dull our enthusiasm for the summer ahead.
